PARCA Roundtable Discussion
Contributed by Suzanne Hunter.

PARCA made its first public appearance during the recent PACS 2005 conference in San Antonio. A round-table discussion was held to present the goals of PARCA and solicit comments from participants about the certification, as well as structure and organization. Several PARCA board members were present, i.e. Don Jollota, Herman Oosterwijk and Ed Smith as well as your secretary Suzanne Hunter. Below follows the highlights of the discussion as well as additional comments.

Herman: PARCA deals with certification only, no training. It is totally independent. There is no affiliation (yet) with any professional society; we are working on it but it is a long process. PACS is a very complex system, we need to provide a benchmark for training purposes.

The certification consists of 3 levels, which can be viewed as read more...
