February 2010       PARCA enews is provided to inform members of certification updates, member feedback, and offers from our sponsors.             Recertification Update The PARCA Board of Directors has decided to go forward with our plan for recertification. As we announced previously, all PARCA Certificate holders should begin collecting continuing education credits beginning January 1, 2010. In order to be eligible for recertification, members will need to collect 24 credits within each 2 year period for a total of 60 credits. Continuing education credit must be awarded from a recognized organization and must have informatics content. We will transmit further details about acceptable sources of continuing education credit. In general, continuing education credit from international organizations will be accepted. Members in good standing will be eligible for discounted rates for the recertification exam.
