Our current PARCA advisory board members are:

John Anthony Carrino, M.D., M.P.H.
John is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and Section Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has a long history of involvement in medical imaging informatics. He directed the deployment of one of the first large scale enterprise-wide U.S. military PACS known as the MDIS (Medical Diagnostic Imaging Support) project. He has worked with clinical decision support systems at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women's Hospital. He currently acts as the director of the Faculty IT advisory committee in the Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science at Hopkins. He has strong interests in musculsokeletal diagnostic imaging, image guided therapy (IGT), medical informatics, and health services research. Current areas of interest include image quality, decision support, information system integration and Research PACS. Dr. Carrino is an active participant in numerous medical societies related to musculoskeletal imaging, interventional radiology, MRI and informatics. He was a board member and served on numerous committees for SIIM (Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine). He is one of the representatives of the American College of Radiology (ACR) to the DICOM standards committee and has long participated in the base standard working group (WG6). He currently is also a board member of PARCA (PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association). He has given invited lectures on the operational aspects of PACS and DICOM at numerous conferences. Dr. Carrino has written numerous scientific and review papers on musculoskeletal imaging, image guided intervention and informatics.
